Summary:
Critically assess suppliers, products, services and negotiate the best possible value for company.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services such as equipment, tools, and supplies for the organization.
Send Engineered Drawings out for RFQ's.
Evaluating suppliers by considering overall value of product by price, considering the quality, cost, delivery, service, and other criteria.
Negotiating contracts with vendors and suppliers to obtain the best deals on behalf of the company.
Interviewing vendors and visiting suppliers' facilities to learn about products, services, and pricing.
Verifying purchases by comparing them to a master list and recommending alternatives for expensive or irrelevant products.
Interacting with suppliers to resolve delivery issues and shipping errors.
Authorizing payments via Cost Sheets & Contracts.
Clarify and correct pricing issues between accounting and vendors.
Attend industry trade shows to learn about and stay current on trends and to meet suppliers.
Discuss defective goods and services with the Quality Control department.
Back up the Buyer in the Purchasing department when needed.

Education and/or
Experience:
Associates Degree or Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Purchase and Supply, Business Administration, or related field.
At least two years of experience in a related position.
Knowledge of purchasing functions, negotiations, engineered drawings, and management systems.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Department specific database software; Internet software; lnfor XA; Excel Spreadsheet software and MS Word Processing software.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Other Skills and Abilities:
Ability to manage multiple projects.
Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Valid driver's license needed to operate company vehicles.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
